SUMMARY:Women in Chemistry Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The Kentucky Lake Section of the American Chemical Society is hosting a &ldquo;Women in Chemistry Career Symposium&rdquo; at Murray State University on April 25\, 2009. The symposium will utilize the experiences of the women members of the Kentucky Lake Section (western Kentucky/Tennessee region) to illustrate the career opportunities for women in the chemical sciences to high school and college students\, teachers and colleagues. Literature about career opportunities and career development will be provided and the attendees will receive a commemorative t-shirt and element pin.  There will be also be several awards of student and professional American Chemical Society memberships. A complimentary luncheon is included. If you are unable to attend this event\, please suggest that interested students attend with their parents or a friend. It is anticipated that the inspiration\, guidance and career advice provided at this symposium will encourage high school and college students to follow a career path in the chemical sciences. The close interaction of the participants in this symposium will foster communication and provide the opportunity to build a mentoring network.
